Will the 3 Lessons I learned As I Sat Staring At Myself In The Mirror Ever Rule the World?

My new hairdresser asked the typical questions to get to know me as we talked about my haircut. It wasn’t long before she introduced me to another hairdresser and mentioned that I was a Life Coach. The hairdresser responded that she was a life coach too…“I can tell you What Not To Do!” I can imagine that as a hairdresser that is probably true! But as a coach this is not the way we do things! It’s that enlightening moment when I’m coaching and I ask a question and know the instant the client becomes aware that that’s how coaching is supposed to be.

Coffee. It’s magical. Not much gets done until we’ve had a couple cups of coffee.

You can apply hair color to your eye brows with a q-tip.

Not much is private in a salon. I don’t know if it’s me but I can clearly hear the conversation in the booth next to me but I can’t hear a word my hairdresser is saying. Maybe she’s talking real soft or it could be because she starts the dryer while carrying on a conversation. Whatever the reason, it’s my time to relax and to be still and listen.

  1. Who you are? Are you questioning yourself after doing something and wondering why you did that? It is so easy to get caught up in the drama, excitement, or in the moment and follow what others are doing when it is clearly something you would never do under normal circumstances. Temporary insanity? Take a moment and decide what is important to you and how you can start standing up to what you believe.

  2. Are you taking care of yourself? Are you currently healthy? Battling an illness? Healing? Getting enough sleep? There are so many distractions in our lives that we tend to be on auto-pilot and forget to follow the advice given to us. What self-care practices do you need to add into your daily schedule? Remember that in order to do all the things you do to care for others…you have to take care of you.

  3. Have you checked your Credit Card Activity? Credit card fraud is rampant. The NextDoor App and Facebook Groups are always talking about going to a location (gas stations are common) and having their card compromised. Make a habit of checking your debit/credit card activity daily so you can catch it right from the beginning. Report it immediately to your bank and law enforcement if needed. If you know where your card was compromised make sure you warn friends and neighbors.

It was a delight to be in a salon that was friendly and considerate of each other. Remember that wherever you are, to be aware of your surroundings and appreciate the experience.

Enjoy this 11th Chapter of 12! November is such a beautiful month and a great time to list all that you are thankful for!
