Can Mompreneurs Find Balance Between Family And Business?

A Word From My Guest Blogger Deb Kos:

It is very hard when you are juggling a business and trying to keep up with running a home and being there for a family and friends.

When you have a business, you learn as you go along.  It involves a lot of research, learning different platforms, schedulers, extra phone apps, mailing systems, cloud storage devices, etc.  You are always asking a ton of questions.  You join Facebook groups to learn, grow and be part of the community.  My background is a stay at home mom for 17 years.

When I started my business, it was hard at first trying to think like a boss.  I had been an employee a very long time ago.  I felt like I was still in the employee mode.  I had to get a routine started to make me feel like boss and I had to figure out the steps I needed to complete for my business.  I am sure many moms experienced this when they started their company with a stay at home mom background.  I am boss now and I know now that I am in charge!

Kids need constant care and attention.  You want to be at events and be there to support your family but sometimes you just can’t do it.  Friends do not understand that you are an entrepreneur now trying to learn and run a business.  They are complaining that your too busy for them.   Your true friends will stick by you no matter what! There will never be a balance between work, family and friends.  I’ve accepted that!

Even pets act up, when you are busy working at home, trying to get your attention.

It is a constant struggle and your have to choose what is worth worrying about and what is not.  You have to let go of the little stuff so when you can, you will be able to focus on the business.

Then, there is the time when family has to be your main-focus and you have to be there for them.  The business research, learning, writing and paperwork piles up.  Then, it is a massive push to get the work done.  But, the work gets finished!

You can’t regret the time you couldn’t put into your business or the times you missed with the family.  You have to forget it and just move on. Life is, was and always will be a balance struggle and a great learning experience.  You also have to let go and forgive yourself for the times when you could not be there for your family.  Life happens!

Business and family is a big challenge and it always will be but what matters is the quality time you can put into your business.  You have to get out of your head and focus on being the boss.  You have to move on and flourish!

What are your thoughts on the balance between family and work?
